Men are the hardest to shop for. The online gift guides don’t help either. If your husband is like mine, he’s not big into golf or watches and that eliminates about half of “gift guides.”
However, I think I had a great collection of stocking stuffers last year, and I have even more ideas this year.
Growing up our stockings were mainly candy or snack foods we enjoy. I have a few different food suggestions for this reason. Additionally, our stocking stuffers were intended to be useful. We didn’t get a lot of toys in the stocking, those were our main gifts. Most of these suggestions are practical but can be appreciated.
- Books. A book is a good stocking stuffer because there are a wide variety of subjects to choose from. My husband mainly reads religious or historical books. Last year I ordered a book from ThriftBooks, a website of used books. It was signed by the author and I only paid $4 for it!
- Bar soap. My husband enjoys the Dr. Squatch bar soaps. A lot of their bars have exfoliating properties, cute packaging, and nice scents. Duke Cannon also has a good selection.
- Protein foods. Protein bars can get kind of spendy so we buy them sparingly. Stockings are a good opportunity to branch out and try new flavors. There are also other protein foods such as Quest nachos, muffins, or even protein candy.
- Supplements. The stocking is a great opportunity to restock supplements, or try new health products. Last year I got my husband liquid IV packets that he enjoyed trying. This year I may include a new creatine flavor or pre workout.
- Seasonings. I swear every time that I send my husband to the store he comes home with a new meat seasoning. If your husband likes to grill like mine, seasonings are a great little filler. My husband likes the Kinder seasonings best. This is a good time to branch out and buy seasonings from local businesses who may have unique blends to offer.
- Hot Wheels. This is something that seems a little immature but if your husband is a car guy, get him a Hot Wheels car that matches what he drives. I got my husband one and he enjoyed it. These little cars make the inner child happy. Car fresheners are another good stocking stuffer.
- Candy. I make sure there’s a lot of candy in the stockings. The holiday season is a time to enjoy all the candy you love guilt-free. I use cheap candy and more expensive candy. There’s a candy shop in our city that has unique flavors that make for good stocking stuffers. Gum is also a great filler.
- Hygiene products. Cologne, new toothbrushes, a new hairbrush, and restocks of any hair or beard products are good stocking stuffers. Use this as an opportunity to upgrade some of your worn everyday products.
- Tools. Small tool kits, flashlights, or racket straps make for useful stocking stuffers.
- Gym accessories. Some products that fit in this category are blender bottles, arm and ankle weights, or lifting straps.
Of course, some of these ideas only fit men with certain interests. However, I hope that even if your husband isn’t into health or cars, you found an idea on this list that was helpful.
Merry Christmas!
