3 Femininity Tips That Have Nothing to do With Appearance

Most femininity tips relate to hair, beauty, makeup, clothing or etiquette, while these things are great, I would like to offer you 3 femininity tips that have nothing to do with appearance. These are small, affordable habits that you can implement to elevate your life.

1. Learn Cursive

If you don’t know how to write in cursive, learn! Cursive is a classic and very elegant form of writing. This will force you to slow down as you write and better formulate your thoughts, as well as spell more accurately.

Studies have shown that handwriting notes, as opposed to typing them, increases memory retention and improves fine motor skills. Once you learn cursive, challenge yourself to write in cursive regularly.

Over time, your writing will become beautiful as well as your signature!

2 Read More Classic and Fantasy Books

If you don’t read, or only read modern literature, try a classic book for a change of pace. Classic literature can be intimidating, but there are many classics that are easy to read and have entertaining story lines.

If you’re a big fan of romance and feminine stories, read ‘Little Women,’ ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ or ‘Emma.’

Lately I have been loving classic fantasy books. Currently, I am reading the Narnia series, but last year I read one that inspired me.

The book was ‘Phantastes,’ by George MacDonald. I was originally interested in this book because C.S. Lewis wrote that the book “baptized [his] imagination,” and inspired him to write fictional literature. MacDonald also encouraged Lewis Carroll to publish Alice in Wonderland.

Phantastes was pure whimsy. Every chapter held a paragraph that made me catch my breath. There were several captivating storylines within the book that could have been independent stories but worked with the plot so beautifully. This book changed my perspective on several things and re-ignited my love of reading.

Even if you don’t read Phantastes, which I highly recommend, there are many fairytale books you may like. Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and The Nutcracker are some fantastical classics. For almost every fairytale, there is a modern adaption for easier reading.

Regardless of what you choose to read, there are many benefits to reading. It can improve your vocabulary, memory, and overall be a good, productive hobby. There is a genre and book for everyone.

3. Write More Thank You Cards

Sending letters and cards have become “outdated,” but it can be a lovely gesture.

Sending a thank you card to someone who has helped you in some way is very thoughtful. It shows that you appreciated them enough to think of them, write a letter, and send it.

Pick out some beautiful stationary, HomeGoods has many gorgeous options, or you can even order personalized cards with your monogram for a very classy touch. Use your new founded cursive writing to show appreciation for someone. In the south, it used to be expected to give thank-you cards, and it was something a lot of women took pride in.
